Renowned Artist to Set the Stage for Domestic Travel

New York, NY (July 19, 2011) – Artist Alan Wolton will exhibit a stunning 5 foot by 6 foot piece titled Basilican Excursion at La Guardia airport in New York, NY, from September through November, 2011. The piece will be showcased in the American Airlines Admiral's Club at the airport.

The oil painting is of the stunning Santa Maria Della Salute, or Saint Mary of Health, basilica that sits on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy. Wolton highlighted the architecture of the Roman Catholic cathedral using the scumble technique to sweep over the building, adding the baroque detail. The choppy water was captured in the foreground using the impasto technique, blending to a transparent illuminated sky in the background.

Wolton has spent time painting in the United States, Europe and South Africa. Known for his breathtaking landscape scenes, the artist has been an oil painter for over 50 years. Originally from England, he currently works out of his studio in Sedona, AZ. His oil paintings are featured in art galleries in Hawaii, Illinois, Arizona and Florida and at fine art shows such as the ArtHamptons event held in Bridgehampton, NY in July, 2011.

The American Airlines Admiral's Club at La Guardia airport was the first VIP lounge. LaGuardia, operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, is located in the borough of Queens in New York City and handles mostly domestic flights.
